AIRCRAFT STORAGE FACILITIES

For aircraft owners, there may be no better airport in the Philadelphia area for basing your aircraft than Wings Field. Strategically located at the crossroads of three of the Philadelphia area’s major highways (PA Turnpike, Northeast Extension, Blue Route), Wings is at the center of the region’s business. It is the closest airport to Philadelphia’s biotech/hi-tech corridor, Blue Bell, Plymouth Meeting, Ambler, Fort Washington, Conshohocken, Norristown, Willow Grove, King of Prussia, the Main Line, and Chestnut Hill. Within two miles are 40 office complexes and a regional mall. Nearby are some of the best neighborhoods in southeastern Pennsylvania.

Wings Field today is configured to store up to 143 aircraft in hangars or tie-down spaces. There are up to 58 spaces for aircraft in hangars, 76 tie-down spots, and nine spaces for transient aircraft.

The Airport contains a limited number of hangar bays for the safekeeping of aircraft. Because of the high demand for these spaces, the owner of Wings Field, Wings Field Preservation Associates, LP (WFPA) has required aircraft owners who wish to store their aircraft in a Hangar Bay to own a minimum number of Partnership Units in partnership that owns the field. For current information about the partnership requirement, contact the president of WFPA.
